Vodafone and i-mob announce Portuguese Partnership
8th January, 2008

At Vodafone Portugal's Lisbon head quarters this morning, a partnership for the Portuguese market was presented to the assembled audience of press, television and VIP's by Vodafone and i-mob.

Utilising the product suite `Wireless SafeCar', the partnership will distribute two innovative vehicle security and safety solutions developed by i-mob and refined jointly by Vodafone and i-mob specifically for the Portuguese market.

The i-mob products high level of interactivity, and reliance on mobile telephony, makes for a natural synergy between the partners and these innovative features have been further enhanced by Vodafone to give additional options to customers when making contact with their vehicle. An example of this will be the imminent launch of a dedicated 'WAP' site, which will allow owners to gain the location of their vehicle, issue commands to the vehicle and request information from it direct from their compatible mobile handset.

Much more than a simple 'tracking' system 'Wireless SafeCar' can offer customers a real answer to the developing problem of car jacking in Portugal and will provide information on demand generating significant peace of mind. In addition to the advanced anti hi-jack, accident management, key theft and alert functionality the products also feature advanced remote immobilisation capability to maximise the recovery of stolen vehicles. These capabilities, and the way they operate, are believed to be unique to i-mob solutions placing equal emphasis on safety and effective recovery.

The products will be sold by all Vodafone outlets nationwide and will then be installed by one of the 250+ approved national installation centres.

'Wireless SafeCar' products will also be available to customers of the most significant Portuguese Motor groups, Salvador Caetano and Santogal, enabling them to be included with the purchase of their new or used vehicle in over 250 additional outlets nationwide.

The new 'Wireless SafeCar' brand and logo was first seen during the build up to the Dakar rally last Thursday 3rd January. Prominently displayed on the buggy of the leading Portuguese, ex F1 driver, Tiago Monteiro. Unfortunately the cancellation of the Dakar event, due to threat of terrorism, meant that Tiago was an unexpected, but welcome, VIP at the launch event along with players from some of Portugal's premier football clubs, one of whom had been car-jacked only a week or two before the event and so had great interest in these innovative products..

Please see the attached images showing the use of the new logo, its first public airing and the packaging that will be used in store.
